Nicolas is, in short, one of the best pianists in the world. It's hard to do him justice and to have time left for a podcast, so here are some highlights:
Nicolas shot to international recognition in 2018 after winning the Honens International Piano competition, one of the biggest competition prizes in classical music. As a result he has since played all around the world to sold out audiences and rave critical reviews.
He is known for being technically brilliant, but also unusual in the classical world: he often plays little known pieces; makes electronic music; and if you follow him on social media you may even get the odd pop rendition or piano tuition.
Nicolas was born in Georgia, but as a child moved to Hungary. During his undergraduate studies he met pianist Emanuel Ax and was invited to study with him and composer John Corigliano at The Juilliard School. He is currently doing his Doctorate at CUNY, where he holds the Graduate Center Fellowship.
